The pedal that was bestowed upon us that night was the Sonic Bronchitis and it changed everything for Sun of Grey’s sound. We immediately noticed a complete tone change with Ian’s rig. Low, crunchy growls with the bright upper register still shining through was all we needed to hear to know we had found our sound at last! We were finishing up Outerworld and only had vocals to lay down when Ian suggested that he go back and re-record all the guitar parts again with the new Sonic Bronchitis. I thought he was crazy at this point because we were already done but I couldn’t be happier with our final product.
