MALPAIS

MALPAIS is a tonal and artistic collaboration
between Desert Records and Fowl Sounds. The
MALPAIS is an overdriven preamp pedal that’s as
diverse as the sounds of the desert are. It’s an
original circuit inspired by the infamous generator
parties of the 90s and the modern scenes that has
continued. With a powerful eq, tons of available
gain and volume, the MALPAIS can add a little bit
of grit to your tone, or go full out sludge. Its
personality molds to your guitar and amp like a
sonic chameleon. While powered by a mere 9 volts,
the internal circuit is boosted up to 30V to give
this pedal its amp-like sounds and powerful EQ.
Did we mention it was loud? Unity sits around 9:30
on the volume control and has enough output to
cause any preamp to question its place in the
